Jordan Martz enters his second year as a graduate assistant with the Messiah men’s basketball team. In his first year, Martz helped the Falcons to a 19-6 record including a 12-0 start, where they were ranked as high as 15th nationally.
Martz earned a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from York College in 2013 where he played basketball. The highlight of his college playing career was being a part of a Capital Athletic Conference championship team in 2011-12.
When it comes to Martz’s coaching philosophy, he wants to “make an impact, a lasting difference in other lives as previous coaches have made an impact on mine.” While he loves to win and compete he understands that basketball serves a larger purpose, “One that teaches accountability, responsibility, discipline, how to handle failure and victory. Essentially traits that will one day serve us in begin a great brother, husband, or father.”
While at Messiah, Martz is pursuing his Master’s Degree in Higher Education with a concentration in College Athletic Management.
