Brad Brubaker

  • Title
    Assistant Coach
Brad Brubaker enters his seventh season as an assistant coach for the Falcons in the 2023 season.

Brubaker's primary responsibility is developing the program’s outfielders and slappers along with assisting in recruiting efforts.

Brubaker joined the Falcons after he completed a three-year run as the head coach at Lancaster Bible College; stepping down after the 2016 season as the program’s all-time leader in wins. Now in his 14th season of collegiate coaching, Brubaker has produced 18 All-Conference and six NFCA All-Region selections.

Brubaker’s impact has been swift and positive since his arrival in Grantham. In 2017, all three of the Falcons starting outfielders earned Commonwealth Conference honors, posting a combined .964 fielding percentage. Freshman slapper Samantha Esper earned Commonwealth Conference Rookie of the Year honors with a .336 batting average, while logging just two strikeouts in 146 plate appearances in her first year under Brubaker’s tutelage.

Last season, two Falcon outfielders received MAC Commonwealth Second Team Honors, including Haylee Anders who also was named the FPN Division III National Player of the Week for April 15, 2018. Esper returned to form at the end of the season and went 10-for-17 in postseason play, culminating with her being named to the All-Tournament Team at the Newport News Regional in the 2018 NCAA Division III Tournament.

For eight seasons Brubaker was the lead assistant at his alma mater Elizabethtown College. While with the Blue Jays he coached three Regional All-Americans and five all-conference selections. His players at Lancaster Bible also garnered prestigious awards, including the program's first-ever NFCA All-Northeast Region selection, NEAC Rookie of the Year, CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree, and National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) First Team All-American. Eight of his players at LBC also earned all-conference honors.

Prior to his arrival at Lancaster Bible, Brubaker taught the game at the scholastic level and is the only head coach in Lancaster-Lebanon League history to lead two separate L-L League Section 4 schools to postseason play (Columbia H.S. in 2010; Lancaster Mennonite H.S. in 2013). Brubaker's knack for development was on full display at LMH when he, upon inheriting a team that was winless in two-straight seasons, guided the Blazers to the school's first winning record since 2003 and first postseason appearance in 12 years.

Prior to leading the Blazers, Brubaker first took over at the high school level at Columbia in 2010. The Crimson Tide had never had a winning season across their 25-year history, but he led them to a 14-8 record in his first campaign, including the school’s first postseason victory and an appearance in the quarterfinals of the PIAA District III Class AA Tournament.

From 2007-2011, Brubaker coached several successful Junior Olympic Travel Teams in the 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U classifications, winning a combined 117 games. During that five-year span, those travel teams garnered 22 top-three tournament finishes, including 15 appearances in championship games, with seven total tournament titles; among them capturing the 2011 ASA Class A 18U Eastern National Qualifier Tournament championship.

Brubaker graduated from Elizabethtown College with a degree in business administration, concentrating in marketing and corporate communications. He was a goalkeeper on two nationally-ranked Blue Jay soccer squads and played in the 1984 NCAA Division III National Tournament. He also enjoyed a men’s fastpitch playing career as an outfielder for several ASA Class “A” and “B” teams in the 1980s and 1990s. Brubaker resides in Lancaster.
