Continuing on the Falcons’ coaching staff for her second season is Assistant Coach Alexa Radziewicz.
“Continuing my coaching aspirations at Messiah University has been extremely fulfilling. The players are incredible women, who are hardworking and passionate about lacrosse and life.” Radziewicz said about joining the Falcon’s coaching staff last year. “I am also extremely grateful to be working alongside Heather McKay, who is full of knowledge, hardworking and wants the players to grow to their full potential. I have learned so much with my time at Messiah and am extremely grateful to be a part of the program.”
Radziewicz was a four-year starter and senior captain for the Syracuse Orange, leading the team to four NCAA tournament appearances. She was an instrumental part of the Orange’s defense, being named ACC Defensive Co-Player of the Week and an Inside Lacrosse All-Rookie select. Prior to coaching at Messiah, Radziewicz coached with multiple club teams, including Platform Lacrosse Academy, Orange Crush Club, and True Lacrosse.
“Coach Raz comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience but the true gift of hers is being able to inspire and motivate players to grow. She coaches with passion and a belief in each person’s ability to work through challenges and become stronger."
Radziewicz is now a second-year student at Messiah University’s Department of Physical Therapy School. She aspires to be a Sports Physical Therapist to continue her career with athletes to help them reach their full potential after injury. Radziewicz’s husband, Drake Porter, also played lacrosse at Syracuse and now serves as the assistant coach for the Rutgers Men’s lacrosse team.
