    Assistant Coach

Stepping on the Falcons' sidelines for the first time this year is Assistant Coach Chelsea Marshall. A former standout goalie for the West Chester University Golden Rams, Marshall will serve as Messiah's primary goalie coach.

Marshall has been a coach and talent selector for the Under Armor All-American teams in both 2010 and 2011. As an evaluator of the top women's lacrosse players in the country, Marshall had the opportunity to see the best and brightest of the nation's lacrosse talent. She brings to Messiah a wealth of knowledge of the game, including the understanding of what it means to excel at a championship level.

"Coach Marshall has been a huge asset to our program, even in such a short amount of time," said Messiah head coach Heather Greer. "She brings a dynamic passion for the game to her leadership of our young women, and she understands the drive and commitment that it takes for players to get to the 'next level.' "

Marshall graduated from West Chester University in 2006, where she was the first goalie in program history to record a shutout. In all, she owned a stifling save percentage of 0.56, and competed with the Golden Rams in three NCAA Division II National Championships (2004, 2005, 2006). Marshall started in goal in every game in 2005 and 2006, collecting a record of 29-5.

"Our program has been successful in the last few years," added Greer, reflecting on the two MAC Championships collected in just the past three years. "We're proud of what we've accomplished, but we're also motivated to improve and excel in our conference, region, and the nation. Coach Marshall will have a positive impact on our program doing exactly that."

Marshall’s coaching career began in 2007 when she served as a volunteer goalie coach for West Chester’s women’s lacrosse team. After coaching stints at the Episcopal Academy and Hilton Head School in South Carolina, Marshall began working with Under Armor. Marshall has also served as director of Lacrosse Evolution, a lacrosse training and event management company.

"I'm honored to be joining the Messiah program," said Marshall. "I'm looking forward to working closely with Coach Greer and working toward the continued-- and future, success of Messiah women's lacrosse."

Coach Marshall resides in nearby Dillsburg, PA.
