Joining the Falcons’ coaching staff for the 2025 season is Assistant Coach Mackenzie O’Haver. O’Haver was a four-year member of the Messiah women’s lacrosse team from 2021-2024 and grew into our team leader both on and off the field.
“It’s an amazing opportunity to come back and invest into the players, coaches, and program that I fell in love with as a player myself.” O’Haver said about returning to the program that she previously played for. “As a coach now, I’m looking forward to encouraging and challenging players to compete at their highest level as athletes and as women who want to love others as Christ loves us.”
O’Haver, a goalie, was the cornerstone to the Falcon’s defense in her years between the pipes. Averaging a 0.472 save percentage, O’Haver was an IWLCA Senior All-Star and picked up an All-MAC Commonwealth Honorable Mention her senior season. She also was selected for the MAC All-Sportsmanship Team her senior season and was a two-time MAC Academic Honor Roll select. Not only was she a leader on the field but she led the Falcons with strength, courage and compassion.
“To have Mac on our coaching staff is such a gift to the players and to the coaching staff as she knows what it takes to grow and strengthen our team’s mission, values and culture. As a player, she embodied what it means to be a Messiah Womens Lacrosse player and now as a coach, she is inspiring others to lead in the same way."
Graduating from Messiah University in 2024, O’Haver received a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Health Science. She intends to apply to medical school to become a primary care physician with a concentration in sports medicine. In addition to coaching, O’Haver is a patient care technician at a local hospital.
