Ali Krieger returns to the sidelines of Messiah women’s soccer as an assistant coach for the 2017 season. Krieger graduated from Messiah in 2014 after a decorated career that included the Falcons’ reaching the NCAA Division III National Finals in three of her four years, with National Championship finishes in 2011 and 2012 and National Runner-Up in 2010.
Krieger was a top-notch defender during her career with the Falcons, starting 70 games and playing in 95 over the course of her four seasons. As a senior in 2013, she helped anchor a Messiah back line that sported a miniscule 0.29 goals against average and posted 18 shutouts in 24 matches. That season Krieger was named First Team All-MAC Commonwealth, First Team NSCAA All-Region, and a D3soccer.com Third Team All-American for her efforts on the defensive end. During her freshman season in 2010, she saw a bit of playing time on the offensive end as well, scoring ten goals and notching three assists.
