Grantham, PA - The Falcons fell to the Arcadia Knights, 61-47 on Saturday evening in Brubaker Auditorium. After the Knights and Falcons were tied 22-22 at the half, the Knights took over in the second-half, outscoring the Falcons 39-25 across the final 20 minutes.

The first-half began very slowly, with the Falcons leading 11-6 after 11 minutes of play. After those first 11 minutes play began to pick up, the Falcons eventually lead by as many as 8 with 5:57 left in the first-half.

With the score in favor of Messiah 20-12, the Knights used a 10-2 run to close out the final 5:30 of the first-half. At halftime the two teams were knotted at 22-22.

After the half the Knights continued their strong play, beginning the half on a 13-2 run over the first six minutes to open up an 11-point lead. All in all the 23-4 run lasted 10:17 that spanned across halftime, and put the falcons in an 11-point hole.

Messiah began getting themselves out of the hole, using a 12-2 run to pull the game to within a single point. Seniors

David Fernandez-Bravo highlighted the run scoring six points a piece in the 3:54 span.

While the Falcons remained within striking distance until the final two minutes, they could not seem to find the big shot. With 2:11 remaining in the game, the Knights made a three to go up by six before 10 free throws and a fast break layup down the stretch put the game out of reach for the Falcons.

The Falcons shot just 34.5% (19-55) from the field and only 26.9% (7-26) from beyond the arc. Their 26 three-point attempts are their second-most attempts in a single game (11/25 at York).

With the loss the Falcons move to 9-6 overall and 2-5 in the Commonwealth Conference. The falcons will next be in action on Wednesday when Hood College travels to Brubaker Auditorium, tip off is set for 8:00 p.m.
