GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Messiah College men's tennis team picked up their sixth-straight win after they defeated Eastern University 9-0 on Thursday afternoon.
Messiah started with singles action and beat the Eagles in all six matches.
Cody Fitzwater (no. 6) and
Bryson Boettger (no. 4) got things started for the Falcons after they both defeated their opponents 6-0, 6-1. No. 3 singles,
Andrew Bookman also picked up a lopsided win, 6-1, 6-1.
Galen Fitzkee (no. 1) and
Keller Martin (no. 5) defeated their opponents 6-2, 6-1, while
Alex Mantsevich (no. 2) finished things off with a 6-2, 6-4 win.
The Falcons also swept doubles play 3-0 in dominant fashion. No. 1 doubles
Alex Mantsevich and
Andrew Bookman won 8-2, as did no. 3 doubles
Bryson Boettger and
Cody Fitzwater.
Galen Fitzkee and
Keller Martin secured Messiah's sweep after defeating their opponents 8-3.
Messiah will travel to Arcadia University on Saturday, Apr. 21 and will begin doubles action at 1:00 p.m.
