GRANTHAM, Pa. - The No. 4 Messiah women's soccer team earned a 9-0 victory over the Hood Blazers on Shoemaker Field on Saturday evening. Messiah outshot the Blazers 29-0 in the contest and saw three Falcons net multi-goal games.
Jessie Fisher led the charge, scoring the first three goals of her career with a hat trick off the bench.
Julia Kyne and
Brooke Firestone each netted braces in the victory.

In addition to the three multi-goal scorers,
Sunny Gelnovatch and
Megan Mansfield scored within a minute of each other in the 24th and 25th minute, respectively.

Messiah will take to the road and travel to Stevenson University to face the Mustangs on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.

Early and Often
Messiah took their first shot of the match in the eight minute when
Julia Kyne rattled an attempt off the crossbar. Just over a minute later, Kyne hit the crossbar again, but her attempt crossed the line and gave Messiah a 1-0 lead. Just a minute and 15 seconds late, Kyne struck again off an assist from
Brooke Firestone.

Sunny Gelnovatch gave Messiah their third tally of the game. In the 24th minute, it was Gelnovatch's turn to find of the back of the net with a shot from outside the box for her fifth goal of the season. Gelnovatch's tally started a 1:21 stretch that saw the Falcons score three goals and take a 6-0 lead.

Just 53 seconds after Gelnovatch made it a 4-0 lead,
Megan Mansfield took a cross from
Barb Foster at the top of the box and sent a one-time shot with the left foot to the far-right netting. Just 28 seconds later
Jessie Fisher scored her first career goal with a sliding strike from just outside the six to extend the Falcons' advantage to a half dozen at 6-0.

Finishing Touches
The Falcons held the 6-0 lead through the half until
Brooke Firestone collected her second goal of the evening with a left-footed strike from the right corner of the box. Firestone ran onto a pass from
Ashley Sauder for her 10th goal of the season.

In the 68th minute
Esther Seeland found
Jessie Fisher for a header and the freshman's second goal of the evening. With just over a minute remaining in the contest, Fisher put the finishing touches on her hat trick with a free kick goal from just inside the box. On an indirect kick,
Emily D'Amico and
McKenzie Swartley gave quick touches before Fisher delivered the goal.

The Falcons move to 8-1-0 overall and starts off their MAC Commonwealth slate with a 1-0 record. Messiah will next head to Stevenson to take on the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday night.
