Falcons Show Well at Dickinson Dual

Results

The Messiah men and women's track team competed against Dickinson College today. The Falcons had originally planned on competing at Susquehanna University but due to impending inclement weather, Messiah stayed close to home to compete.

Times and Numbers
Alyssa McMinn won the women's shot put with a throw of 11.15m. McMinn also competed yesterday at the Lebanon Valley Dutchmen Invitational, finishing in third-place in shot put. In the men's shot put, Christian Pilawski threw 11.60m to secure second-place.

Andrew Schott finished in second-place in the 55m hurdles with a time of 8.53 seconds. Schott also competed in the men's high jump, clearing 1.65m to take third-place. Joel Rhinehart competed in the 55m hurdles as well, taking third-place with a time of 9.10. Rhinehart also earned a personal best in the pole vault with a jump of 3.65m. 

In the women's high jump, Emily Gourley took first-place with a jump of 1.45m.

America Cervantes won the women's pole vault with a jump of 2.15m.

Ellissa Slader won the women's 200m with a time of 26.79 seconds. 

In the women's 55m hurdles, Kelsie Kennedy led the way, finishing first with a time of 9.0 seconds. Kathryn Wiederrecht finished in third-place, running 9.25 seconds. K. Wiederrecht highlighted the Falcons' performance in the 55m dash, coming through the line in 7.59 seconds to take first. Kiera Wells came through the line in 7.78 seconds to secure third-place. 

Brendan Provan won the men's 55m dash with a time of 6.73 seconds. Provan also won the men's triple jump with a personal best jump of 13.71m while finishing second in the long jump with a 6.20m jump. 

In the women's mile, Leigha Southall led the way for the Falcons, finishing with a time of 5:33.44. On the men's side, Benjamin Schott took third with a time of 4:36.01. In the men's 5,000m run, the Falcons took second through fourth with Kyler Shea leading the Falcons with a 15:54.50. Cera Gaston won the women's 5,000m run, making her way through the finish in 19:59.44. 

Taylor Wiederrecht won the women's 400m with a time of 59.72 seconds. T. Wiederrecht's time was just .30 seconds away from tying the school record, set by Rachel Hepkins in 2006 when she ran 59.42. T. Wiederrecht also won the women's long jump with a 4.76m jump. In the men's 400m, Shane Braunworth finished in second-place with a time of 55.66 seconds.

Messiah took second through fourth in the men's 800m with Matthew Royer highlighting the Falcons' perfomance, running a time of 1:59.06. In the women's 800m, Esther Seeland took first with a time of 2:21.18 while Maddison Landis finished just behind Seeland with a time of 2:22.56.

What's Up Next
The Falcons will travel to Lancaster, PA to compete at the Mini-Dip Invite hosted by Franklin and Marshall on Jan. 25.
