PLANT CITY, Fl. - After falling into an early 4-1 deficit, the Falcons made a comeback in the bottom of the seventh to to defeat Bason 5-4. Six separate Falcons tallied hits on the day with
Isabel Seise leading Messiah with two RBI's.
Joy Kolakowski (2.0 innings pitched) and
Emily Albanese (5.0 IP) shared the circle today with Albanese recording one strikeout through 19 at bats.
Oswego started with one run in the bottom of the first and recorded six more in the second inning en route to a 10-0 victory over the Falcons. Messiah struggled to get the bats going, recording just six hits while Oswego recorded 12 hits through the five innings.
Messiah Defeats Babson 5-4
The Falcons fell behind early in their first game of the day after Babson recorded four runs off of four hits in the top of the second inning. Messiah responded with a sacrifice fly to bring home
McKenzie Tebbs in the bottom of the second, setting the score a 4-1 in favor of Babson.
Both teams were held scoreless through the top of the seventh. Babson put two runners on in the top of the seventh after a single and a walk but both were stranded after a pop up and a ground out.
Kara Birosak got things started for the Falcons in the bottom of the seventh with a single to right field.
Jaelynn Harbold brought her home with a double to left field, bringing the Falcons within two with the score set at 4-2.
Isabel Seise hit a single to center field and advanced to center field, bringing in Messiah's second run of the inning. Moments later,
Haylee Anders hit an RBI single through the left and advanced to second on the throw to bring in the tying run. After
Erin Cressman reached on a fielding error, Anders advanced to third and
Ashley Carroll came to the plate. Carroll hit an RBI single to second base, bringing home Anders to give the Falcons the 5-4 victory over Babson.
Oswego Defeats Messiah 10-0
Messiah started the game with a single from
Erin Cressman and a bunt from Ashley Caroll, putting runners on first and second but three-straight outs ended the inning. Oswego got the scoring started with and RBI groundout to short stop to take a 1-0 lead over Messiah.
Oswego held Messiah to just one hit in the top of the second inning. The Lakers recorded six hits in the bottom of the six which included three two-RBI hits. Oswego added six runs in the inning, taking a 7-0 lead at the conclusion of the inning.
The Falcons put two runners on in the top of the third after
Ashley Carroll got hit by a pitch and
McKenzie Tebbs reached on an error. Both runners were left stranded after a fielder's choice ball by
Jaelynn Harbold resulted in the third out of the inning.
Oswego kept things going in the bottom of the third, adding two more runs with a two RBI single to center field, putting the Lakers up 9-0.
The Falcons put another two runners on in the top of the fourth but a pop up to second base by
Haylee Anders and a caught foul ball from
Erin Cressman ended the inning.
Three hits from the Lakers in the bottom of the fourth resulted in the tenth run for Oswego. Messiah was able to stop the scoring, stranding three runners on base.
The Falcons recorded one hit in the top of the fifth with two outs but
Jaelynn Harbold went down swinging, ending the inning, giving Oswego a 10-0 victory over Messiah in five innings.

Messiah is off tomorrow but will resume play against Babson on Mar. 21 at 9:15am against Babson.
