BOSTON, Ma. - In her first-ever NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships,
Esther Seeland is advancing to tomorrow's 800m final race to compete for the national title.

Seeland entered her preliminary race as the fourth-seed overall and held the second fastest time in her heat. In order to have a guaranteed spot in tomorrow's final, Seeland had to win her heat and she did just that. Seeland was in the front of the pack from the start of the race and moved into first on the bell lap. Seeland coasted to the finish line, avoiding some chaos behind her, and finished the prelims in 2:16.02. Seeland will take the track tomorrow evening at 3:55 p.m.
The women's distance medley team, consisting of
Maddison Landis,
Ellissa Slader,
Leanne Weaver, and
Esther Seeland, finished in 11th-place, coming across the line with a total time of 12:02.99. The top-eight finishers in the race finished with times of 11:50 or faster, including an 11:40.64 from Brandeis to secure the national championship title.
