Messiah wraps up Fall Season with loss to Dickinson

Carlisle, Pa - The men's tennis team wrapped up their fall season with a loss to Dickinson College 6-3. Chase Wilson and Connor Rose provided all three wins for the Falcons on the day.

Doubles
Messiah played well in doubles but could only win one of the courts which came at No. 2 courtesy of Chase Wilson and Connor Rose. They won a tightly contested pro-set 8-6 to claim the only doubles win for Messiah.

At No. 1 doubles, Jarod Snader and Jonathan Baker kept it close but dropped their pro-set 5-8. At No. 3 doubles Michael Sell and Carl Anderson lost a close battle with their opponents, losing by a score of 6-8 to make the score 1-2 going into singles.

Singles
It was once again Chase Wilson and Connor Rose who came through for the Falcons, winning at No. 2 and No. 3 respectively.

At No. 2, Wilson took down Bennett Gazor convincingly in the first set winning 6-1 but was tested in the second set. Wilson continued to play well and won the second set 7-5 and claimed the match 6-1, 7-5.

At No. 3 singles, Connor Rose won yet another three set thriller, defeating Garrick Adams 4-6, 7-5, (10-6) to claim the third point for Messiah. This was Rose's third time that he has gone to a third set tiebreak in this short fall season and has been victorious in each one.

The rest of the Falcons could not find wins in their singles matches as Messiah would go on to lose to Dickinson 6-3.

At No. 1 singles, Jarod Snader lost to Thomas Griffin 3-6, 5-7.

At No. 4 singles, Jonathan Baker lost to Levi Veleanu 1-6, 0-6.

Michael Sell played well at No. 5 and found himself in a third set tiebreak. Unfortunately, Sell came up short and lost his match 1-6, 7-6(5), (4-10).

At No. 6 singles, Josh Gingerich lost 3-6, 2-6 to Florian Anderson.

Up Next
The men's fall season came to an end on Saturday and the loss brings their record to 1-3. They will resume their traditional season in the spring in mid-March.
