GETTYSBURG, PA - Messiah women's volleyball split their two matches today at the Gettysburg Invitational. The Falcons beat Penn State Berks 3-1 (25-10, 21-25, 25-16, 25-14) and then dropped their next match to Rowan University by an identical score of 3-1 (25-22, 25-16, 17-25, 25-19). The Falcons are back in action tomorrow at the Gettysburg Invitational when they face Montclair State University and Dickinson College.
Match One - Messiah defeats Penn State Berks, 3-1
Messiah kicked off their season with a win against Penn State Berks early Friday evening, by a score of 3-1 (25-10, 21-25, 25-16, 25-14). The Falcons totaled 44 kills with
Mackenzie Feight leading the way with 15.
Rachel Rashford and
Rachel Garratt also each had seven kills in the match.
Kristen Seibert had 33 of the 37 assists for the Falcons, while
Amanda Dahlman (18),
Mackenzie Feight (16),
Hailey Miller (14) and
Rachel Garratt (10) combined for 58 of the team's 62 digs. The Falcons also tallied nine service aces.
Match Two - Rowan defeats Messiah, 3-1
Later in the evening, Messiah dropped their match to Rowan University 3-1 (25-22, 25-16, 17-25, 25-19). The team totaled 34 kills and
Caitlin Lielbriedis had a team high 12.
Logan Wolfe had 7 kills on the night.
Kristen Seibert once again led the team in assists, this time recording all 29 assists for the Falcons.
Amanda Dahlman and
Mackenzie Feight led the way in digs with 21 and 17 respectively, while
Hailey Miller (12) and
Kristen Seibert (10) chipped in with 22 combined digs.

The Falcons will continue at the Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday September 4, when they will face Montclair State University and Dickinson College to conclude the weekend. The Falcons will then be on the road for their first conference match on Wednesday September 8
th at Lebanon Valley College.
