GRANTHAM, PA - The women's tennis team lost their first match of the season Saturday afternoon 3-6 to Scranton University. After dropping all three doubles matches, the Falcons picked up wins at No. 4-6 singles courtesy of
Angela Tozzi,
Nicole Lee and
Hannah Olson.
Doubles
The Falcons lost all three doubles matches to start the day.
Kasi Conjack and
Angela Tozzi lost 8-0 on court one, while on court three,
Sarah Fleming and
Hannah Murray lost their match 8-4. Court two doubles with
Rachel Marcroft and
Rebekah Sheaffer put up the best effort in a close 8-6 loss.
Singles
Messiah lost singles courts one through three before winning on courts four through six.
Kasi Conjack,
Rachel Marcroft and
Rebekah Sheaffer lost in straight sets on the day. Conjack lost 2-6, 3-6 at No. 1. Marcroft lost 4-6, 2-6 at No. 2 and Sheaffer lost 1-6, 1-6 at No. 3.
The Falcons got their first win from
Nicole Lee in the fifth singles spot, winning 6-2, 6-3.
Hannah Olson followed with a quick win on court six winning 6-0, 6-0 and
Angela Tozzi won a close match on court four winning 7-6(6), 6-4.

The women's team moves to 0-1 on the brief fall season and will be in action next week when they travel to Wilkes Barre, Pa. for the MAC Individuals Tournament.
