LANCASTER, Pa. – The Messiah men's track and field team competed at the Mini-Dip Invitational at Franklin & Marshall College on Friday evening.
Brendan Provan recorded a first-place finish in the triple jump, recording a winning mark of 13.79m on his third attempt.
Logan Horst turned in quality performances in both the 1-Mile (4:23.67) and the 800m (2:01.50), missing the top time in the 1-Mile by just three-hundredths of a second.

60m Dash
Provan represented the Falcons in the 60m dash, advancing to the finals with a fourth-place preliminary time of 7.26s. In the finals, Provan turned in a time of 7.28s, placing seventh overall.
60m Hurdles
Andrew Schott advanced to the finals following a preliminary time of 8.94s, the fourth-best time out of 16 sprinters. Schott finished fourth overall in the finals, turning in a time of 8.99s.
John Steele represented the Falcons in the finals as well, finishing sixth overall, crossing the line in 9.04s.
High Jump
Derek Heisey and Schott each performed well in the high jump with each Falcon recording a mark of 1.75m.
Landon Kerr also performed in the event, turning in a mark of 1.60m. Zachary Crebbin of Ursinus College achieved the top mark of the 20 jumpers, earning a height of 1.95m.
Triple Jump
Provan had a strong day in the triple jump for the Falcons, earning a top mark of 13.79m. Provan achieved the mark on his third attempt, topping all 15 jumpers. The second-best mark went to York College's Colin Evans, who leapt to a distance of 13.26m. Provan's distance of 13.79m ranks fifth all-time in Messiah men's indoor track and field history. Noah Keitel (12.05m) and Kerr (11.78m) each turned in quality performances.
400m
Aedan Wilkinson and
Derek Heisey each performed well in the 400m. Wilkinson earned a fourth-place finish with a time of 53.31as Heisey finished in fifth, crossing the line in 53.72.
800m
Horst turned in a solid performance in the 800m, placing fifth overall with a time of 2:01.50. The junior topped his 800m mark (2:02.02) from last week by just over a half of a second as
Connor Daudt recorded a quality performance as well, crossing the line in 2:04.06.
5000m
Noah Calisti topped all competition in the 5000m. Just one week after placing first in the 3000m (9:03.92) at the Alvernia Winter Invite, Calisti earned a top mark of 15:35.63 out of a field of 28 runners. With the top time, Calisti was just 0.52s away from cracking the top-10 all-time 5000m times in Messiah men's indoor track history.
Andrew Hutchinson turned in a quality performance, placing third overall with a time of 15:40.82. Other notable Falcon performers included
Isaac Covert (16:12.60),
Josiah McCarthy (16:21.82),
Xander Smith (16:56.24),
Matt Higgs (17:02.83), and
Ryan McAllister (19:05.53).
1-Mile
Horst nearly earned his second first-place finish in the 1-mile run in as many weeks, but was edged by Scranton's Shane McKeon by three-hundredths of a second. McKeon's (4:23.64) time eclipsed Horst's time of 4:23.67 as
Josiah Moyer placed third with a time of 4:29.04. The field included 49 total runners as
Nathan Kimmel (4:38.38),
Kyle Costello (4:40.13),
Cassidy Hoffman (4:41.16), and
Josh Bauman (4:45.27) all recorded top-20 fnishes for Messiah.

The Falcons travel to The Armory in New York City next Friday, Feb. 4, to compete in the NYC Armory DIII Invitational, set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
