YORK, PA - The Messiah field hockey team picked up a 3-2 win in overtime over conference opponent York College this evening keeping their perfect conference mark in tact.
Mallory Kline scored the game winning goal in overtime which was her second of the day.
Ashlyn Smith also added the other goal for the Falcons.
The Falcons are back in action this weekend when they host Alvernia at Anderson Field in Grantham, Pa at 1:00 PM.

Mallory Kline nine minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead into the second quarter. York answered the call shortly into the second quarter to even the score before
Ashlyn Smith tacked on her 11th goal of the year to give the Falcons a 2-1 lead. That lead held until halftime. The Spartans answered once again to even the game at 2-2 midway through the third and it would remain that way until the fourth quarter buzzer sounded. Each team had opportunities to convert in overtime but it was Messiah's
Mallory Kline who put the Falcons ahead 3-2 and gave them the 3-2 victory.

Ashlyn Smith added her 11th goal of the season.
Kelsey Heltzel added an assist in the game. Messiah out shot York 20-8 and had 11 more shots on goal (11-6). Messiah also held the penalty corner advantage 15-5.

The win brings the Falcons to 10-2 on the year and 5-0 in the conference. The Falcons will host the Alvernia Golden Wolves on Saturday October 15, at 1:00 PM. That game will be on Anderson Field in Grantham, Pa.
