Red Devils Command Falcons in Only Fall Match of Season

CARLISLE, PA - In their only fall match of the season, the Messiah women's tennis team fell 1-8 at the hands of Dickinson. Conjack/Heckman at No.1 doubles was the only Falcons win on the day, winning 8-5. The loss wraps up the fall season for the tennis team as their sights are set on the spring. 

Doubles
The Red Devils took a 2-1 lead into singles after winning courts two and three doubles by scores of 8-3 and 8-1. At #1 doubles, the team of Conjack/Heckman prevailed in a well fought set after winning four straight games after trailing 4-5 to take the set 8-5. It was a solid win and it proved to be the only win of the afternoon for the Falcons. 

Over on the next court, Kiersten Strohecker and Kylie Walker formed the #2 doubles team. They were neck and neck with Dickinson at first, but the Red Devils pulled away to win the match 8-3.

Nicole Lee and Angela Tozzi joined forces in the #3 doubles position, but only won a single game against the Red Devils, making the final match score 1-8

Singles
At number one, Kasi Conjack lost her first set in singles 1-6. She was working hard to make a comeback in the second set, but ultimately dropped it 3-6.

At the #2 singles spot, Bella Heckman lost the first set 1-6. She had a strong second set, but her opponent ultimately prevailed and Heckman lost 4-6.

Kylie Walker had a tough first set and was unable to get a game on her opponent in the first set. She came out swinging in the second set and put several games on the board, but in the end, her opponent claimed the victory and Walker lost 0-6, 4-6 at number three.

Nicole Lee played at the #4 singles spot and did not get a game in the first set. She put two games on the board in the second set, but she was unable to secure a win and ultimately lost 0-6, 2-6.

Kiersten Strohecker took her place on the court at number five. The match did not go in her favor and she dropped both sets 0-6, 0-6.

The last singles match of the day featured Angela Tozzi under the lights at number six. Her opponent won decidedly in the first set, but Tozzi put up a fight in the second set, making the final match score 1-6, 4-6.

The loss wraps up the fall season for the women's tennis team as their sights are set on the spring. With three freshman in the starting lineup, the Falcons have a lot to look forward to in the spring. The conference slate is on the schedule while other non conference matches will be added later.
