Five Falcons Honored By MAC

ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) announced its weekly Player of the Week awards on Monday afternoon for the week ending on Feb. 13 as five Falcons were honored with weekly accolades. Reese Harden (women's basketball), Esther Seeland (women's indoor track and field), Logan Horst (men's indoor track and field), Matt Knab (men's volleyball), and Carter Urich (wrestling) all were honored by the MAC for their phenomenal performances last week.  
 
Reese Harden – MAC Commonwealth Player of the Week – Women's Basketball
Reese Harden averaged 14.0 points per game with 5.0 rebounds in the Falcons' 2-0 week in conference play. scored the game winner in the final seconds against Alvernia to give Messiah their 13th-straight victory. The 3-pointer gave Harden a new career high of 16 points. The sophomore ended the week with a pair of double-digit performances also scoring 12 points in a 74-46 victory over Stevenson. 
 
Esther Seeland – MAC Track Athlete of the Week – Women's Indoor Track & Field
Esther Seeland earns her fourth consecutive conference weekly award of the season. For the second-straight week Seeland broke the NCAA Division III (MAC and Messiah) 800-meter record. She finished the event at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational (Boston University) with a new record time of 2:05.39. She ran a 2:05.90 to break the record last week.
 
Logan Horst – MAC Track Athlete of the Week – Men's Indoor Track & Field
Logan Horst led the way for the Falcons in the 5000m at the Susquehanna Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Horst earned a second place finish with a time of 14:57.86, posting the best finish of the day for Messiah. 
 
Matt Knab – MAC Offensive Player of the Week – Men's Volleyball
Matt Knab helped the Falcons to a perfect 4-0 record on the week. Knab accumulated 106 assists in 9 sets for an 11.78 assist/set average. Knab also picked up 10 service aces and four kills. 
 
Carter Urich – MAC Wrestler of the Week – Wrestling
Carter Urich earns his second conference weekly award of the season. Urich went 2-0 this week earning a first period dual against Elizabethtown, pinning Quinn Hogue in 2:25. The senior then upset No. 12 Thomas Maretta from nationally ranked The College of New Jersey by a 9-1 major decision. Urich nearly pinned Maretta but ran out of time, settling for a set of four nearfall points instead.
