Stevenson too Much for Messiah, Lose 20-10

OWINGS MILLS, MD - The Messiah men's lacrosse team fell to the No. 17 ranked Stevenson Mustangs 20-10 to drop their conference mark to 2-2 and their overall record to 6-7. Seth Libby led the team with three goals on the night while Sam Stone had two.

The Falcons will travel to York College to play the Spartans on April 20, at 7:00 PM.

First Half
Stevenson used a dominant first half to eliminate the Falcons early, taking a 12-3 lead into the break. Seth Libby gone the lone goal for the Falcons in the first quarter. Ryan Fascetta and Owen Joyce tacked on the two goals for the Falcons in the second quarter. 

Second Half
The second half was more even, with Stevenson outscoring Messiah by one (8-7) in the third and fourth quarters. The Mustangs rattled off the first three goals in the third quarter while the Falcons responded with three of their own, courtesy of Branson, Libby and Santangini. Libby would add his third goal of the game in the fourth quarter while RJ Mellor and two Sam Stone goals found the back of the net for Messiah. 

Stats
Seth Libby led the Falcons in goals with three while Sam Stone had two. Carter Cigrang and Ryan Fascetta tied for the team lead in ground balls with four. Stevenson as a team had 26 more ground balls than the Falcons while also dominating the face-offs, winning 28/33.

The loss drops the Falcons record to 6-7 overall and 2-2 in the conference. They will travel to York College on April 20, at 7:00 PM
