GRANTHAM, PA. - The Messiah men's tennis team swept the visiting Albright College Lions earlier this afternoon 9-0 to earn their first conference win of the season. Each player won their respective match in straight sets.
The men will travel to York College on April 5, to play the Spartans at 3:30 PM.
Doubles
The Falcons got off to a quick start in doubles, only dropping four combined games. Wilson/Rose won 8-2, while Baker/Gingerich and E. Martin/Niemi each won their courts 8-1 to give the Falcons a 3-0 lead going into singles.
Singles
That trend continued in singles play, with the Falcons suffocating the Lions on each court.
Chase Wilson won 6-0, 6-1 on court one while
Connor Rose won his match on court two 6-1, 6-1.
Michael Sell won his match on court three 6-1, 6-0, as well as
Josh Gingerich on court four 6-3, 6-1.
Jonathan Baker won on court five 6-1, 6-0 while
Ellis Martin won his match at six 6-0, 6-0.
