GRANTHAM, PA. - The Messiah women's tennis team picked up their first conference win this afternoon, beating the visiting Albright College Lions 7-2 to improve their conference record to 1-0.
The women will travel to York College to take on the Spartans for another conference battle on April 6, at 3:30 PM.
Doubles
The Falcons led 2-1 after doubles with convincing wins on courts two and three. Both Marcroft/Sheaffer and Murray/Fleming won 8-0 to take two of the doubles wins to start the match. Conjack/Tozzi fell in their match at number one doubles 4-8.
Singles
The Falcons found more success in singles from the two through six positions, with four of those wins coming in straight sets. Marcroft won 6-0, 6-3 on court two while
Angela Tozzi's match on court three went the distance, going to a full third set. Tozzi would prevail and win the match 6-3, 2-6, 6-3.

Sarah Fleming each won their matches handily on courts four, five and six. Conjack dropped her match at No. 1 singles to Alex Pancu 1-6, 0-6.
