GRANTHAM, PA - The Messiah men's tennis team fell to Lebanon Valley College earlier this afternoon 7-2.
Chase Wilson and
Connor Rose were the lone wins for Messiah on the day. Messiah also recognized senior
Ellis Martin this afternoon.
Messiah will travel to Eastern for their final conference match on April 30, at 1:00 PM.
Doubles
The Falcons and Dutchmen were neck and neck on every doubles court, with LVC prevailing on each court. Wilson/Rose lost 7-8(5) on court one, Baker/Gingerich lost 6-8 on court two while Martin/Niemi lost 6-8 on court three to complete the sweep for the Dutchmen.
Singles
The Falcons made a comeback bid early winning courts one and two in straight sets. Wilson won 6-4, 6-4 against Justin Schuetz on court one while Rose won 6-3, 6-2 on court two against Jeff Bauer. LVC would win the remaining courts on the day. Sell lost in a third set 3-6, 6-3, 3-6, while Gingerich lost 2-6, 0-6 on court four. On court five, Baker lost 1-6, 5-7, and to finish out the day,
Ellis Martin lost 0-6, 1-6 on court six.

The loss drops the Falcons record to 7-10 overall and 4-2 in the conference. They will travel to Eastern for their final conference match of the year on April 30, at 1:00. That match will be played in St. David's Pa.
