MIDDLETOWN, PA - 17 days after the match could not be finished due to rain back on April 8, the match resumed late this afternoon to conclude play with two of the three matches being contested.
On court five,
Hannah Olson fell 5-7, 3-6 while on court six, it was
Sarah Fleming who earned a victory for the Falcons. Fleming won convincingly 6-2, 6-2 for the Falcons third overall match point. The matchup on court two between
Rachel Marcroft and Samantha Bogush did not resume play today and will go down as an uncontested match.Â
The final score will also go down as a 5-3 win for PSU Harrisburg, and officially marks the Falcons tenth loss of the campaign, dropping their record to 5-10 on the year. Messiah will compete against the York College Spartans for a MAC Commonwealth showdown to determine seeds in the upcoming MAC Commonwealth tournament. That match will take place on April 27, at 3:30 PM on the campus of York College.Â

MIDDLETOWN, PA - The women's tennis team did not finish their match against PSU Harrisburg this afternoon due to rain. The Falcons were down 2-4 when the match was called, earning wins from courts two and three doubles.Â
Doubles
The Falcons jumped out to an early 2-1 lead after doubles courtesy of courts two and three. Marcroft/Sheaffer won convincingly on court two with an 8-1 win to open up the doubles matches. The next court to finish was court one, where Conjack/Tozzi fell 2-8 to even the overall match score. The No. 3 doubles team of Murray/Fleming rallied after an early deficit and earned a set tiebreak at 7-7. After fighting off multiple match points Murray/Fleming won the tiebreak 11-9 for a final score of 8-7(9). The Falcons would take that 2-1 lead into singles play.
Singles
Three matches were able to finish before the rain halted the match.
Kasi Conjack lost 1-6, 1-6 on courts one while
Angela Tozzi fell 1-6, 2-6 on court three.
Hannah Murray also lost 1-6, 3-6 on court four to make the score 2-4 in favor of PSU Harrisburg.

Hannah Olson on court five was down 2-4 in her first set. Fleming had just started her match on court six and held a 2-1 lead in the first set.Â
