ST. DAVID'S, PA - After going to overtime thanks to a big Evan Parker three to tie the game in regulation, the Falcons prevailed 80-76 over the Eastern Eagles for a big conference win. Cuperus led the Falcons in points with 19 while Edwards added 18 and a team high nine rebounds.

The Falcons will host the Golden Wolves of Alvernia on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 6:00 PM in Grantham, Pa.

It was Messiah who jumped out on top with a 16-6 advantage to prompt a quick eastern timeout. After the timeout, the Eagles went on a 22-2 run to take the momentum through the middle of the first half. Eastern led by as much as 11 points but the Falcons were able to stay close as the first half ended with Eastern leading 43-38.

Messiah continued to claw back and kept the game tight to within one point at the ten minute mark as well as with eight and half minutes to go as Eastern led 58-57. The half continued to be close as the teams were knotted at 64 with just over a minute to go. After an Eastern bucket and a Messiah turnover, Eastern called a timeout with 25 seconds to go.

After one made Eastern free throw followed by a miss, the Falcons had an opportunity to tie the game with 12 seconds to go, calling a timeout to draw up a play. The Falcons called Evan Parker's name in the huddle, and he answered with a deep three from the wing to tie up the game with seven seconds to go at 67. It was the first field goal since the 9:18 mark of the second half. After a turnover by the Eagles, the game was sent into overtime.

In overtime, the game continued to be thrilling, with Messiah leading by as many as four but the game was tied at 76 with 30 seconds to go. A Tim Edwards layup along with a Cole Fisher free throw gave the Falcons a 79-76 lead with three seconds to go. Eastern drew up one more play in an attempt to tie the game but turned the ball over. The Falcons would win 80-76.

Dylan Cuperus led the Falcons in points with 19 with Tim Edwards adding 18 as well. Evan Parker had 14 points but none more important than the three he made to take the game to overtime. Tim Edwards had a team high nine rebounds while Coletti had five assists.

The win brings the Falcons record to 8-6 and 3-2 in the conference. The Falcons will host the Alvernia Golden Wolves in yet another conference battle on Wednesday, Jan 11 at 6:00 PM. That game will be held on Jordan Court in Hitchcock Arena in Grantham, Pa.
