ARLINGTON, VA. – A strong second half led the Messiah men's lacrosse team over the Marymount Saints early Saturday Afternoon, winning 15-9. The Falcons outscored the Saints 11-3 in the dominating second half.
Chad Teresky stuffed the stat sheet with five goals and four assists for the Falcons while
Jesse Lynch,
Dean Gillette,
Zach Drake and
Bobby Berg each scored twice.
The Falcons move to 2-1 on the season and will travel to Wilkes-Barre to face King's College. That game will be on March 1, at 7:00 PM.
On the Turf
The Saints got on the board with two early goals before Teresky found the net two times to even the score at 2-2. Marymount tacked on another goal before the period ended and took a 3-2 lead into the second quarter of play.
The Saints added another before
Jesse Lynch and
Dean Gillette knotted the game score back at 4-4 under ten minutes to go in the second. Marymount would end up taking a 6-4 lead into halftime.
In similar fashion to all of their games this season, the Falcons were a different team in the second half, using lock down defense as well as a strong arsenal of offense to silence Marymount. Messiah used five goals in the third quarter and six in the fourth to drown Marymount 15-9 in the contest. The Falcons outscored the Saints 11-3 in the second half alone.
