Game One – Stevenson defeats Messiah – 5-1
The Falcons offense was stagnant for the first five innings of Saturday's first game. During five hitless frames for Messiah, the Mustangs built a 5-0 lead with runs in the second and third before scoring three in the fourth.
Â
Stevenson's Sam Downs allowed his first hit of the game on a leadoff single to
Dylan Beard in the top of the sixth. Beard then stole second and
Joshua Ammons reached on an error, but a double play and a ground out ended the frame for the Falcons.
Â
In the seventh, Messiah got a leadoff triple from
Isaiah Parido to right center and later in the frame
Ryan Friend knocked a sacrifice fly to right field bringing home Parido. The late run was not enough as a fly out to centerfield ended the game with the Falcons falling by a final score of 5-1.

Game Two – Stevenson defeats Messiah – 10-3
In Game Two, the Mustangs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with a two-run single in the bottom of the first. Messiah responded with three runs in the top of the second for their most productive inning of the afternoon.

Dylan Beard drove home a run on an infield single. In total, the Falcons scored three runs on three hits, but left the bases loaded with a strike out ending the frame.
Â
That lead held until the bottom of the seventh when Stevenson pushed across eight runs on five hits, four walks, and a pair of hit by pitches. The result was a 10-3 lead for the Falcons.
Â
Messiah did not get traffic on the bases until the top of the seventh when they put runners on first and second, but were unable to dent the scoreboard. The result was a 10-3 Stevenson victory.
