Falcons Ground Bulldogs in Multiple Three Set Wins

GRANTHAM, PA. - The Messiah women's tennis team found success in multiple matches that went the distance to a full third set Saturday Afternoon and took care of DeSales 7-2. The Falcons took two doubles courts courtesy of Conjack/Heckman and Lee/Lentz as well as five singles courts in the win. Conjack, Heckman, Walker, Lee and Lentz all won on their respective singles courts.

The Falcons are back on the courts on March 28, when they host Penn State Harrisburg for a non conference tilt at 3:00 PM at Criste Courts.

Action
The Falcons took two out of three doubles courts thanks to Conjack/Heckman on court one (8-3) and Lee/Lentz on court three (8-2). In a close match on court two, the team of Sheaffer/Walker fell 6-8.

Kasi Conjack breezed through her match at No. 1 winning 6-1, 6-1 to give the Falcons a 3-1 lead early. Kylie Walker earned a win at No. 3 winning 6-4, 6-2 as the Falcons held a 4-1 advantage with four matches to go.

At one point, courts two, four and five were all playing in a decisive third set with the match outcome yet to be determined. First it was Nicole Lee on court five winning 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 and then it was Isabella Heckman outlasting her opponent on court two, winning 6-7(2), 7-5, 6-4. Rebekah Sheaffer dropped her third set and match 7-5, 5-7, 3-6 on court four while Anna Lentz won handily on court six 6-1, 6-1.

The Falcons prevailed 7-2 over the Bulldogs.

The win takes the Falcons to 2-3 on the year and will host Penn State Harrisburg on March 28, for a match at 3:00 PM at Criste Courts.
