Men's Lacrosse Dominates Griffins On The Road

GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Messiah University men's lacrosse earned a dominant away victory at Gwynedd Mercy University, 24-9, on Wednesday afternoon. Chad Teresky had a huge offensive game for the Falcons, scoring a game-high and career-high seven goals to propel Messiah to its third-straight victory. Nathan Branson (5), Ben Ferrell (4), Bobby Berg (3), and Jonah Libby (2) all recorded multi-goal performances in the victory.

Brock Roe recorded three saves in the win to improve his overall record to 4-0.

The Falcons jumped all over Gwynedd Mercy in the opening quarter, scoring six goals. Messiah scored the game's first four tallies, highlighted by an unassisted effort by Teresky. Ferrell, Corum McCuller, Will Ehrhart (2), and Berg supplied the Falcons' other goals in the period. The Falcons outshot the Griffins in the opening quarter 16-5.

With a healthy five-goal advantage, Messiah continued to widen the gap in the second period with an eight-goal outburst to build a commanding 14-4 lead heading into the break. The Falcons rattled off 14 shots in the second period to notch an impressive .571 shooting percentage.

Messiah kept the Griffins at bay in the second half while continuing its offensive momentum. The Falcons scored seven goals in the third quarter and three goals in the fourth quarter to seal the 24-9 victory. In the win, Messiah totaled eight different goal-scorers.

Ben Antel had yet another stellar performance in faceoffs, going 25-of-31 to give the Falcons continuous momentum throughout the contest.

The Falcons recorded a total of 48 groundballs in the win. Ben Antel issued a team-high 15 groundballs as Jesse Lynch and Nathan Branson each tallied four groundballs. Other notable performances included an eight-point performance from Ferrell, four-assist performances from both Berg and Ferrell, and five goals from Branson. Josh Grove played the second half in the cage for Messiah, recording three saves to seal the victory.

What's Next
The Falcons will be back in action next Wednesday, mar. 29th traveling to Alvernia University to take on the Golden Wolves at 7:00 p.m. to begin their MAC Commonwealth conference schedule.
