ANNVILLE, PA. – The Messiah men's lacrosse team used a strong second half to put away the Dutchmen late in a 20-15 win. After trailing at halftime by two, the Falcons proceeded to outscore Lebanon Valley 11-4 in the second half.
Bobby Berg led the Falcons in goals with six while
Zach Drake added four.
Aaron Shaw,
Chad Teresky and
Ben Ferrell each had three on the afternoon.
The Falcons will host Stevenson on Tuesday, April 18 for a conference matchup starting at 7:00 PM at the Lacrosse Turf.
Action
Lebanon Valley kicked off the scoring with two quick goals before Messiah answered with two goals of their own to tie the game. The Dutchmen continued to play from ahead after a couple additional goals as they would eventually take a 5-4 lead into the second quarter. The Falcons were able to cut the deficit to one right before the ending of the first period with a goal with seven seconds remaining off the stick of
Bobby Berg, his third of the period.
In the second, Lebanon Valley opened up a 9-5 lead with just over ten minutes to go in the half. The Falcons answered with three goals before the Dutchmen added two more to get to the 11-goal mark at the break. After a
Chad Teresky goal, the Falcons trailed 11-9 heading into halftime.
It was a different story in the second half, especially in the fourth quarter as Messiah outscored Lebanon Valley 11-4 in the second half, and 7-2 in the fourth quarter. After evening up the score line at 13-13 heading into the fourth, the Falcons went on a tear, scoring five straight times to open up the lead to 18-13 with under eight minutes to go. The teams traded goals from that point forward but those first seven minutes of the fourth quarter was the difference, as Messiah won 20-15.

Ben Ferrell all found the back of the net three times in the win.
Jesse Lynch also scored once in the game.
Messiah out shot LVC 46-41 and also corralled 21 face-offs to LVC's 17.
