GRANTHAM, PA. - The Messiah men's lacrosse team dropped their second straight conference matchup this evening, this time against the Eastern Eagles 23-13. The Eagles used a strong first half and a dominant third period to put the Falcons away late in the game.
Seven Falcons scored on the night including
Bobby Berg who led the team with four goals.
The Falcons will travel to Lebanon Valley College to take on the Flying Dutchmen on Saturday, April 15 at 1:00 PM in Annville, Pa.
On the Turf
Eastern jumped all over the Falcons early generating a quick 5-0 lead less than six minutes into the period.
Chad Teresky finally got the Falcons on the board at the 9:07 mark as the Falcons went on a 3-0 run themselves to cut the game to 5-3. Ferrell and Branson tacked on those two goals in the first. After another Eastern goal, the Eagles led 6-3 after one period of action.
The Falcons would pull to within one with goals Berg and Teresky finding the back of the cage before Eastern used a 5-1 run to take an 11-6 lead into the break.
After halftime, Eastern poured it on, outscoring Messiah 7-2 to take a commanding 18-8 lead into the fourth quarter. The Falcons attempted to rally in the fourth but the deficit was too hard to climb as Messiah dropped their conference matchup against Eastern by score of 23-13.

Bobby Berg led the Falcons in goals with four while
Chad Teresky,
Nathan Branson and
Zach Drake all added two goals each.
Aaron Shaw,
Jesse Lynch and
Ben Ferrell all found the back of the net once in the game.
Eastern out-shot the Falcons 60-37 in the contest and recorded 44 ground balls to Messiah's 29. The Eagles also took 24 face-offs to Messiah's 15.

The loss takes the Falcons record to 8-4 and drops their conference record to 1-2. Messiah will travel to Annville, Pa. to take on Lebanon Valley for another conference battle. Opening face-off is set for 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 15.
