GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Messiah women's basketball team used a late 14-2 run to close out the game to defeat the York Spartans 74-62. The Falcons trailed by two after the first quarter, but the Falcons responded in the second outscoring the Spartans 22-13 to take a seven-point lead at the half. The Falcons matched the Spartans in the third and held an eight-point lead heading into the fourth. The Spartans went on a 11-3 run to start the fourth to tie the game at 60 with 6:39 remaining in the game. The Falcons then shutdown the York offense and went on a 14-2 run to close the game at 74-62.
Morgan Adams led the Falcons with a double-double with 30 points and 10 rebounds.

First Quarter
The Spartans started the first quarter strong with a 12-4 run that ran for the first eight minutes of the first quarter.
Morgan Adams scored both baskets for the Falcons during the Spartans run. The Falcons ended the quarter strong with a 8-2 run that was led by
Kiara Bomboy and
Chloe Milanesi who both hit threes to put the Falcons down 14-12.
Second Quarter
York started the quarter strong with three quick points, but the Falcons responded with an 8-2 run to give the Falcons a 20-19 lead with 6:00 minutes remaining in the half.
Morgan Adams scored all eight points for the Falcons during the run. The two teams had some back-and-forth place before the Falcons finished the half a with a 10-2 run that was led by four points from
Chloe Milanesi to give the Falcons a 34-37 lead at the half.
Third Quarter
The Spartans came out of the half strong with an 8-2 run for the first two minutes and half to reduce the Falcons lead to one. The Falcons then responded with an 8-2 run of their own to give the Falcons 44-27 lead midway through the third quarter. The run was led by
Reese Harden who totaled six points during the stretch. The two teams then traded baskets for the remaining of the third to give the Falcons a 57-49 lead entering the final quarter.
Fourth Quarter
The Spartans started the fourth with an 11-3 run to tie the game at 60 with 6:39 remaining. The Falcons responded in a big way with a 14-2 run to end the game.
Morgan Adams dominated in the run with eight points during the run to push her total to 30 points. The Falcons defense also was strong not allowing a single field goal make in the final six minutes.
Stats
Morgan Adams led the Falcons with a double-double with 30 points and 10 rebounds. Adams also added five blocks and three steals.
Reese Harden totaled 12 points and five assists.
Hope Cook added 11 points and two steals.
Charlotte Milanesi also scored 10 points with two assists and two steals. The Falcons shot 39.7 percent from the field and 23.8 percent from three. The Falcons took advantage of free throws going 19-for-21 free the free throw line. The Spartans shot 44.6 percent from the field and 30.8 percent from behind the arc. The Spartans though struggled from the free throw line going 8-for-22.
