GRANTHAM, Pa. - On Saturday evening, the Messiah men's tennis team suffered a tough 7-0 loss to the Golden Bears of Kutztown University. Despite strong play from the Falcons, they were unable to pull off a victory on any court. Closing out the fall portion of the 2024-2025 season winless.

Doubles:
The Falcons received a win on court one thanks to
Chase Wilson /
Lance Wilson by a score of 6-2 to get things started for Messiah. However, on courts two and three, Falcons
Brady Hahn /
Timothy Sheaffer and
Elijah Noll /
Luke Risser lost 6-4 on their respective courts.
Singles:
Playing a division two format had the Falcons trailing 1-0 in the match due to doubles play. To begin singles action, Falcon
Brady Hahn suffered a 6-4, 6-0 court two loss. On court three,
Lance Wilson was also unable to pull out a win losing by scores of 6-0, 6-2.
Now trailing 3-0, the Falcons needed to rally to win the remainder of the courts. Unfortunately, Messiah was unable to do so as
Timothy Sheaffer lost his court 6-1, 6-3. Teammate
Elijah Noll would than lose his court 6-2, 6-2. Despite the match already being decided in favor of the Golden Bears,
Chase Wilson and
Michael Sell forced tough sets on their courts. On court one, Wilson took set one 7-6(4) with a tie breaker. However, he would drop set two 6-4. In a final third set, both players battled tough but Wilson would come up short in another tie breaker losing 7-6(13-11).
