BALTIMORE, MD. - On Tuesday evening, the Messiah men's tennis team dropped a tough match to Goucher College 7-0 to begin their spring season. Despite Chase Wilson / Lance Wilson picking up a court one victory, the Falcons dropped the other two doubles courts followed by the singles courts, dropping their spring season opener.

The Falcons will travel to Hilton Head, S.C. to begin their spring break trip against Greenville University Monday, Mar. 10. 

How It Happened:
Doubles:
The Falcons were able to grab an early win on doubles courts with duo Chase Wilson and Lance Wilson. The brothers performed well against the Gophers ones with a 6-2 win on court one. However, the Falcons fell short in the other two courts as the Gophers defeated duos Brady Hahn and Timothy Sheaffer (6-4) along with Elijah Noll and Luke Risser dropping their court (6-3). 

Singles:
Messiah fought hard in singles play, but unfortunately the Falcons could not string together some wins to pull out the road win. Chase Wilson, Elijah Noll, and Michael Sell all battled on their respective courts, taking a set from each of their opponents. Sell and Noll would even force tiebreaker sets on courts four and five. 

Timothy Sheaffer, Brady Hahn, and Lance Wilson competed well on their courts, but ultimately could not take the Gophers down to help Messiah pull out a road win.
