GRANTHAM, Pa. – On Saturday evening, the fifth-ranked Messiah University women's soccer team earned a dominate 3-0 win over the Mustangs of Stevenson University. The Falcons got on the board just 67 seconds into the game with a
Brittany Laird goal from
Bella Touzeau to put the Falcons up 1-0. In the 18th minute, the Falcons added to their lead with an
Addi Martin goal from Touzeau to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead at the half. The Falcons added one more goal from
Addi Martin from Touzeau again in the 62nd minute to give the Falcons a 3-0 lead. The Falcons kept possession for the remaining minutes and earned the 3-0 win.
Up next, the Falcons travel to Chester, Pa. to take on the Pride of Widener University on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 7:00 p.m.
First Half
The Falcons opened the game looking for an early goal. The Falcons went on the attack and
Addi Martin sent a pass over to
Bella Touzeau. Touzeau took a couple dribbles towards the box and sent a pass over to
Brittany Laird. Laird just got the shot off on time and got the ball past the sliding Stevenson goalkeeper to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead. The Falcons though looked for another goal in the 18th minute.
Bella Touzeau got the ball near the far corner and sent a cross into the box.
Addi Martin skied up over the Stevenson defender and headed the ball into the goal to push the Falcons lead to 2-0. The Falcons added shots on goal from
Kristina Akselsen and
Hannah Adair, but they could not add to their 2-0 lead.
Second Half
The Falcons offense continued to dominate possession into the second half. In the 62nd minute, the Falcons offense looked to add to their lead. After some quick passing through the midfield,
Mia Libby sent a ball to
Bella Touzeau in the box. Touzeau then pass the ball to
Addi Martin, who ripped a shot in between two Stevenson defenders and into the back of the goal to give the Falcons a 3-0 lead. The Falcons continued controlling possession for the remainder of the game with
Hannah Adair,
Lydia Ring, and
Ella Lent-Koop each sending a shot on goal, but each was saved by the Stevenson goalkeeper to keep the score at 3-0.

Addi Martin led the Falcons with two goals.
Brittany Laird also added a goal.
Bella Touzeau tallied three assists. The Falcons totaled 42 shots with 13 shots on goal. The Mustangs tallied one shot. The Falcons earned all 11 corner kicks in the game.
Ava Wert earned the win in goal for the Falcons.
Ellie Ockrin also earned time in goal for the Falcons.
