GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Messiah University men's lacrosse team dominated the Marymount Saints 21-8 in the 2024 home opener. The Falcons jumped to a big 7-2 first quarter lead. The Falcons continued to dominate in the second quarter with a 7-1 run in the second quarter to go out in front 14-3. The Falcons once again cruised in the third quarter, with a 6-1 run to push their lead to 20-4 headed into the fourth quarter. The Saints scored some goals in the fourth, but the Falcons lead was too much, and the Falcons defeated the Saints 21-8.
Chad Teresky led the Falcons with 11 points on five goals and six assists.
Bobby Berg also added five goals and two assists.
Mike McKnelly also totaled five goals.
Up next, the Falcons travel to Lancaster, Pa. to take on the Diplomats of Franklin & Marshall College on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 4:00 p.m.
First Quarter
The Saints started the game with a goal in the first minute. The Falcons then responded with a 4-0 run that started with a
Mike McKnelly goal and ended with a
Chad Teresky goal to put the Falcons up 4-1 with 8:53 remaining in the first quarter. The Saints looked to get close with a goal at the seven-minute mark, but the Falcons closed the first quarter with three straight goals, led by two goals from
Bobby Berg to take a 7-2 lead after the first quarter.
Second Quarter
The Saints once again scored to open the second quarter, but the Falcons responded with three goals in two minutes led by a man-up goal from
Owen Hammel, by
Chad Teresky to give the Falcons a 10-3 lead with 10 minutes remaining in the half. The Falcons closed the half with four more unanswered goals that started with another
Owen Hammel man-up goal and ended with a
Bobby Berg goal to give the Falcons a dominate 14-3 lead at the half.
Third Quarter
The Falcons continued to put the pressure on the Saints in the third quarter.
Chad Teresky and
Jesse Lynch each scored unassisted goals in the first five minutes for the Falcons to extend their lead to 13. In the next six minutes, the Falcons added four more goals with
Will Ehrhart scoring the first goal and
Chad Teresky scoring two straight goals to end the run with the Falcons leading 20-3 with four minutes remaining in the third. The Saints added a goal before the end of the third to put the score at 20-4 entering the final quarter.
Fourth Quarter
The Saints outscored the Falcons 4-1 in the fourth quarter with
Bobby Berg scoring the lone goal for the Falcons in the quarter. The Falcons dominated throughout three quarters and with the sizable lead still defeated the Saints 21-8.

Chad Teresky led the Falcons with 11 points on the afternoon with five goals and six assists.
Bobby Berg totaled seven points on five goals and two assists.
Mike McKnelly scored five goals.
Tristan Lynch went 5-of-15 from the faceoff X and had a game-high three caused turnovers.
David Gross totaled two caused turnovers and four ground balls.
Jourdain Algarin started in the cage for the Falcons and made 10 saves.
Brock Roe also earned time in goal and made four saves. Also,
Josh Grove spent the final quarter in the cage for the Falcons making two saves.
