Womens Team Prevails Over Spartans in Key Conference Match

GRANTHAM, PA. - The Messiah Women's tennis team pulled off the 6-3 win over conference foe York College of Pa. The Falcons used a strong outing in singles play, to secure a big conference victory over the Spartans Saturday. 

Messiah will look to keep it going, when they take on the Mustangs of Stevenson University Monday, April 22nd. 

How It Happened:
Doubles:
Despite the Falcons losing court one. Rebekah Sheaffer / Kylie Walker responded with a win of their own on court two by a score of 8-5. Court three was a tight match, as Jocelyn Valdez / Kiara Bomby took the set into a tie breaker where they would prevail 8-7 (7-5) to give Messiah the 2-1 match lead. 

Singles: 
Kasi Conjack would drop court one 1-6, 3-6. However, Kylie Walker picked up a pivotal 6-1, 6-0 court two win to regain the Falcon match advantage at 3-2. Kiara Bomboy fought through adversity on court three to pull out the 3-6, 6-0, 6-2 win. 

Bella Heckman had the closest match of the day on court four, fending off her opponent 6-4 in set one, and winning a tie breaker set two 7-6 (7-0). Messiah would lose court five, giving the Spartans their third match win of the day. However, it would Yorks final win as Jocelyn Valdez closed it out on court six with a 6-3, 6-3 match victory. 

What's Up Next:
The Falcons will be back in action Monday, April 22nd when they host Stevenson University at 3:30p.m.
