READING, PA. – The Messiah mens tennis team wrapped up their regular season with an 8-1 victory over the Alvernia Golden Wolves. The Falcons finish the regular season with an 7-8 record going 6-0 in conference play.
Messiah will enter the MAC Commonwealth tournament as the No. 1 seed.

On court one
Chase Wilson /
Timothy Sheaffer were in a close battle. The duo found themselves entering a tie breaker tied at 7-7, they would win the tie breaker 7-5 to win the court 8-7.
Michael Niemi /
Carl Anderson also had to pull out a grueling match, entering a tie breaker of their own. However, unlike court one, the team dominated in the tie breaker 7-2 to win the court 8-7. Lastly on court three
Luke Risser /
Elijah Noll cruised to an 8-0 win to give Messiah the 3-0 advantage.
Singles:
Despite the Falcons dominating the day, it did not come easy as three courts entered a third set. On court one
Chase Wilson took game one 6-1 but would lose set two 6-3. In the final set Wilson would escape past his opponent in a 6-4 set three wins.
On court two,
Timothy Sheaffer forced a third set after losing set one 6-4 but winning set two 7-5. In the third set Sheaffer prevailed with an easy 6-0 win.
Michael Niemi continued the three-set trend on the day after winning set two 6-2 but losing set two 6-4. However, Niemi pulled out the 6-3 win to secure the Falcons overall win.
Following a court four loss,
Luke Risser finished his opponent in two quick sets by scores of 6-1, 6-0.
Elijah Noll would do the same on court six winning both sets 6-1, 6-1.
