Falcons Defeat Albright to Advance to the MAC Commonwealth Championship

GRANTHAM, PA. -  The Messiah mens tennis team defeated the Albright Lions 5-0 to advance to the MAC Commonwealth Championship. The Falcons all three doubles wins led them to knocking off the No. 4 seeded Lions in just two singles courts. 

Messiah will host the MAC Commonwealth Championship Saturday, May 4th. 

How It Happened:
Doubles:
The Falcons took all three doubles courts giving them the commanding 3-0 match lead. The courts finished in order, as court one Chase Wilson / Timothy Sheaffer defeated their opponents 8-3. Michael Niemi / Carl Anderson followed up with an 8-5 win on court two. Lastly on court three Luke Risser / Elijah Noll defeated their opponents in similar fashion, by a score of 8-5.

Singles:
Due to the three court victory during doubles action, the Falcons only needed to win two courts to advance to the MAC Commonwealth Championship. Luke Risser finished first on court five winning by scores of 6-3, 6-2. Timothy Sheaffer closed out the day with a court two 6-4, 6-3 win, keeping the Falcons season intact.

The Falcons will host the No.2 seeded Stevenson Mustangs in the MAC Commonwealth Championship Saturday, May 4th.
