Falcons End Season with a Win, Will Enter Conference Tournament as the Two Seed

READING, PA. – The Messiah Womens tennis team wrapped up their regular season with a tight 5-4 win over the Alvernia Golden Wolves. The Falcons finish the regular season with an 7-8 record going 5-1 in conference play.
 
The Falcons will go into the conference tournament as the No. 2 seed.
 
How It Happened:
Doubles:
Kiara Bomboy / Jocelyn Valdez got the day started with a smooth 8-0 win on court three. However, The Falcons would end up losing courts one and two, giving the Golden Wolves an 2-1 match advantage.
 
Singles:
Kiara Bomboy started things off with a 6-0, 6-0 court three win to tie the overall match at 2-2. However, a court one and two loss would give the Golden Wolves a 4-2 advantage needing just one more to win the day.
 
The Falcons were not wavered. Jocelyn Valdez picked up a court six 6-0, 6-1 win to get the Falcons back on track down 4-3. Rebekah Sheaffer followed her up with a 6-3, 6-2 court five win, tying the match at 4-4. Court four was the last to finish, and it proved to be the closest match. Bella Heckman would take set one 6-4 but lost a close set two by a score of 6-4. Seeding implications on the line it came down to the third set, Heckman would prevail with an 6-4 win giving the Falcons there seventh win of the season.

Messiah will be the No. 2 seed in the MAC Commonwealth tournament.
