First Half Offense Propels No. 4 Women’s Soccer Past Lions

READING, Pa. – On Saturday afternoon, the fourth-ranked Messiah University women's soccer team used a four-goal first half to lead them to a 5-0 win over Albright College. The Falcons opened the scoring with an Ella Lent-Koop goal from Bailie Dull in the 19th minute. In the 29th minute, Hannah Adair pushed the Falcons lead to 2-0 with a goal by Dull. Aundrea Fredrick extended the Falcons lead to three with a goal from Dull in the 38th minute. The Falcons added one more goal from Nikki Davis in the final minute of the first half to give them a 4-0 lead headed into the break. Nikki Davis scored her goal of the afternoon from Hannah Lashley, late in the second half, to give the Falcons the 5-0 win.

First Half
After some back-and-forth play, the Falcons looked to get on the board in the 19th minute. The Falcons earned a free kick near the far sideline, about 25 yards from the goal. Bailie Dull sent a low cross into the box and Ella Lent-Koop poked a shot, past the diving Lions' goalkeeper and into the goal to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead. The Falcons looked to extend their lead in the 29th minute. After Lydia Ring passed the ball to Mia Libby into the attacking third, Libby sent a long pass to the right corner to Bailie Dull. Dull then sent a cross to the far post over to Hannah Adair. Adair settled the ball and ripped a shot into the top-left corner to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead. The Falcons continued to put pressure on the Lions' defense and earned a free kick in the 38th minute. Bailie Dull crossed the ball towards the far post and Aundrea Frederick headed the ball into the goal to push the Falcons lead to 3-0. The Falcons earned a corner in the 44th minute and looked to add one more score before the break. Hannah Lashley sent the cross in front of the goal and after bouncing off the Lions' goalkeepers' hands, Nikki Davis ripped a shot into the back of the net to give the Falcons a 4-0 lead at the half.
 
Second Half
The Falcons opened the second half strong with a shot on goal from Addi Martin, but the shot was saved by the Lions' goalkeeper to keep the score at 4-0. The Lions got their first chance in the 56th minute with a shot on goal, but Ellie Ockrin made the save. The Falcons looked to continue to push the pace and add to their lead with shots on goal from Hannah Adair, Briley Campbell, Bailie Dull, Aundrea Frederick, and Ella Lent-Koop, but each shot was saved by the Lions goalkeeper to keep the game at 4-0 heading into the 88th minute. In the 88th minute, Nikki Davis scored her second goal of the game from Hannah Lashley to give the Falcons the 5-0 win.

Nikki Davis led the Falcons with two goals. Bailie Dull tallied three assists. Hannah Adair, Aundrea Frederick, and Ella Lent-Koop each tallied a goal each. Hannah Lashley added an assist. The Falcons totaled 20 shots with 12 shots on goal. The Lions tallied two shots with one shot on goal. The Falcons earned eight corner kicks to Albright's one. Ava Wert earned the win in goal for the Falcons. Ellie Ockrin earned time in goal and made one save. Izzy Pizzuto also earned time in goal for the Falcons.
