Four First-Place Finishes Highlight Falcons' Outing at Blue & White Invite

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Messiah Men's Track and Field team was in action at the Blue & White Invite hosted by Franklin & Marshall on Saturday, Feb. 8. Highlighting the Falcons efforts on the day on the track were first-place finishes by John Condon (Mile) and Louka Fetter (5000 Meter Run). In the field, Nathan Bowman (Shot Put) and Zion Buck (Triple Jump) each won their events.

The Falcons are next in action on Saturday, Feb. 15 when they travel to Selinsgrove, Pa to compete at the SU Invitational hosted by Susquehanna.

Top Five Finishers on the Track
John Condon was the top finisher in the Mile with a time of 4:25.77. In the 5000 Meter Run, Louka Fetter crossed the line in a time of 15:16.75, claiming first. Kaleb Kabakjian finished as the runner-up in the 800 Meter Run with a time of 1:57.91.

The 4x400 Meter Relay team of Sean Baxter, Daniel Satariano, Will Xenakis, and Adam Hostetler combined for a time of 3:34.79, finishing third.

Top Five Finishers in the Field
Nathan Bowman finished atop the Shot Put field with a distance of 14.76 meters. Bowman now sits third all time on the Messiah Top Ten list after more than a meter and a half of improvement over his previous best of 13.15 meters. Hoyt Lechthaler finished as runner-up in the weight throw with a toss of 15.15 meters.

Messiah placed all three of their competitors in the Triple Jump in the top five. Zion Buck claimed the top spot in the field with a distance of 13.84 meters. Finishing fourth was John Steele with a jump of 12.66 meters and Landon Kerr finished fifth with a season-best distance of 12.64 meters.

Other Times on the Track
In the 60 Meter Dash, Joshua Karyea ran a new personal best time of 7.38. Jed Colyer (7.49), Christian Nyachiwowa (7.64), and Austin Grove (7.72) also competed. Grove added a new personal best time of 25.71 in the 200 Meter Dash.

Zion Buck led five Falcons in the 400 Meter Dash, crossing the line in 53.60. Will Xenaxis and Adam Hostetler were the next two Falcons to cross the line with times of 53.80 and 54.32 respectively. Rounding out Messiah's efforts in the event were Nathan Kopp with a season best of 54.90 and Isaac Sobek with a time of 56.66.

Six additional Falcons joined Kabakjian in the 800 Meter Run. Sean Baxter was the second Falcon across the line with a season best time of 2:02.62. Running new personal bests were Daniel Satariano (2:03.43) and Kyle Costello (2:05.92). Aidan Pryor (2:11.17), Gavin Dunkerton (2:21.55), and Caleb McInnes (2:22.17) all competed in the race.

Nathan Kimmel ran a season best time in the Mile, crossing in a time of 4:37.83 while Eli McClymont finished in a time of 4:44.67.

In addition to his personal best in the 800 Meter Run, Kyle Costello ran a season best in the 3000 Meter Run with a time of 9:22.16. Tyler Biller crossed the line in a time of 9:42.05 while Zeke Colyer finished in a time of 9:44.84. Matthew Rush crossed in a new personal best time of 9:47.18 while Gus Rouland clocked in at 10:02.02.

A trio of Falcons ran new personal bests in the 5000 Meter Run with Ryan Klemick (16:25.69), Josiah Carnwath (16:43.74), and Nathan Seibert (16:46.69) all setting new bests. Lance Kauffman crossed the line in a time of 17:28.69.

The 4x400 Meter Relay B team of Nathan Kimmel, Nathan Kopp, Eli McClymont, and Caleb McInnes combined for a time of 3:48.10.

Other Performances in the Field
Landon Kerr cleared a height of 1.70 meters in the High Jump.

A trio of Falcons competed in the Long Jump with Jed Colyer leading the way with a distance of 5.89 meters. Ben Reichenbach finished with a mark of 5.56 meters while Declan Hsieh jumped 4.89 meters.

Gavin Dunkerton jumped a personal best height of 3.64 meters in the Pole Vault. Joshua Karyea cleared a height of 3.49 meters while Jed Colyer cleared 3.04 meters.

Along with Nathan Bowman's first-place finish, six additional Falcons competed in the Shot Put. Ted Lechthaler threw a distance of 13.90 meters to finish just outside the top five. Anthony Russo (12.36) and Gavin Dunkerton (12.14) were the next best marks for Messiah. Liam McGovern (11.35), Patrick Smith (10.14) and Jake Holland (10.00) all competed for Messiah.

Jake Holland threw a new personal best distance of 13.43 meters in the Weight Throw. His mark is an improvement of just shy of two meters from his previous best (11.51m) and is now sixth all time. Ted Lechthlater finished with a mark of 10.99 meters while Anthony Russo finished with a mark of 9.50 meters.
