GRANTHAM, Pa. – On Saturday afternoon, the Messiah University men's lacrosse dropped a tight defensive battle to the tenth-ranked Ducks of Stevens Institute of Technology, 13-7. The Falcons opened the game strong with a 3-2 lead after the first quarter. The Ducks outscored the Falcons, 4-0 in the second to take a 6-3 lead at the half. Each team scored two goals in the third to set up an exciting fourth with the Ducks up by three. After the Falcons opened the fourth with two straight goals, the Ducks ended the game with five straight goals to earn the 13-7 win.
Bobby Berg led the Falcons with four points on three goals and an assist.
Chad Teresky and
Michael Cook each added two points.
Jourdain Algarin made 19 saves in the cage for the Falcons.

First Quarter
The Falcons opened the game strong with a goal from
Owen Hammel in the first minute of the game to give the Falcons an early lead. The Ducks tied the game just two minutes later, but a goal by
Jesse Lynch from
Chad Teresky with eight minutes remaining in the first gave the Falcons back the lead. The Ducks once again answered in two minutes, but
Bobby Berg added a goal with seven seconds remaining in the first to give the Falcons a 3-2 lead headed into the second.
Second Quarter
After seven and half minutes of scoreless play, the Ducks ended the half with a 5-0 run to take a 6-3 lead into the half.
Third Quarter
The Ducks scored the first goal of the third, but the Falcons scored two straight goals, both from
Bobby Berg, to reduce the Ducks lead to 7-5 with 9:36 remaining in the third. After seven minutes of great defense from both teams, the Ducks extended their lead with another man-up goal to put the score at 8-5 headed into the fourth.
Fourth Quarter
The Falcons opened the fourth strong with two straight goals from
Michael Cook to put the Falcons within one with 12:32 remaining in the game. The Ducks though closed out the game strong, scoring five straight goals to earn the 13-7 win.
