Falcons Drop Match to Gophers Tuesday Evening

BALTIMORE, MD. – On Tuesday evening, the Messiah women's tennis team dropped a road match 6-1 to Goucher College. Kiara Bomboy picked up the lone win in singles play, winning her court by scores of 6-1, 6-1. Multiple other Falcons came close to taking courts from the Gophers but could not pull out the win.

The Falcons will travel to Lebanon, PA for a match with the Flying Dutchwoman on Thursday, April 3rd.
 
How It Happened:
Doubles:

 On court one, Kiara Bomboy / Kylie Walker picked up the 6-1 win to give Messiah the good start to the day. However, on court two, Isabella Heckman / Jocelyn Valdez fought hard and even forced tiebreaker points. Unfortunately, the duo could not give the Falcons the win dropping the tiebreaker 7-3. Goucher would enter singles play with a 1-0 lead.
 
Singles:
Jocelyn Valdez's court finished first dropping both sets, 6-2, 6-4. Kiara Bomboy finished second on the day with a win by beating her opponent 6-1, 6-1. Isabella Ipri's court finished third as she dropped both sets 6-1, 6-1. Goucher would clinch the match with that court three win. Calla Stoltzfus pushed her opponent in both sets but could not get one through in the latter courts.  Kylie Walker and Isabella Heckman's courts rounded out the day.

The Falcons will take on Lebanon Valley College Thursday, April 3rd at 3:30p.m.
