GRANTHAM, Pa. – The Falcons opened the game strong with a three-run bottom of the first to take an early 3-0 lead. The Spartans added a run in the third on a solo home run, but the Falcons scored a run in the bottom of the fourth to push the Falcons lead to 4-1. The Spartans added a run in the top of the fifth to reduce the Falcons lead back to two.
Dylan Beard then hit a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth to give the Falcons a 5-2 lead. The Spartans scored a run in the top of the eighth, but
Noah Barrall came out of the bullpen and pitch 2.1 scoreless innings with five strikeouts to give Messiah the 5-3 win.
Zachary Harris earned the win, pitching 6.2 innings allowing three runs on seven hits and eight strikeouts.
Jarrett Gordon led the Falcons with three hits and two RBIs.
Evan Wagaman and
Dylan Beard each tallied two hits.

Messiah 5, York 3
After
Zachary Harris threw a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the first, the Falcons bats looked to strike first in the bottom half.
Isaiah Parido led off the inning with a single. After a strikeout,
Evan Wagaman singled and then
Matt Luchovick was hit by a pitch to load the bases with one out.
Dylan Beard then hit a sacrifice fly to center field to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead. Wagaman also advanced to third on the sac fly, and after Luchovick stole second,
Jarrett Gordon hit a two-RBI single to right field to give the Falcons 3-0 lead after the first.
After a scoreless second inning, the Spartans got on the board with a solo home run to reduce the Falcons lead to 3-1.
After not scoring in the second and the third, the Falcons looked to get back on the board in the bottom of the fourth.
David Martinez led off the inning with a single up the middle and then
Luke Ott reached on an error to put runners on first and second with no outs. After a pair of fielder's choices, the Falcons had runners on the corner with two outs.
Evan Wagaman then drilled a single up the middle, pushing the Falcons lead to 4-1.
The Spartans answered back in the top of the fifth with an RBI single to reduce the Falcons lead back to two. The Falcons though in the bottom of the fifth got that run back with a solo home run from
Dylan Beard to give the Falcons a 5-2 lead through five innings.
After a scoreless sixth, the Spartans looked to get back into the game in the top of the sixth. The Spartans scored a run, but
Noah Barrall came in with a runner on second and two outs.
Jarrett Gordon made an unbelievable play off his back foot, to end the inning and saving another potential run from the Spartans to keep the score at 5-3.
Barrall dominated in the final two innings, allowing no hits, a walk, and struck out five batters to earn the save and give the Falcons the 5-3 win.
