GRANTHAM, Pa. – On Tuesday afternoon, the Messiah University baseball team used a strong offensive performance even with the extreme windy conditions to defeat the Royals of Eastern Mennonite University, 15-4. The Falcons jumped to an early lead 5-0 with two runs in the first and three in the third. The Falcons then added two more runs in the fifth to take a 7-0 lead. Both teams scored three runs in the sixth, but the Falcons outscored the Royals, 5-1 in the final three innings to earn the 15-4 win.
Isaiah Parido led the Falcons with three hits, including a home run, and five RBIs.
Evan Wagaman also added three hits, including a home run.
Dustin Isanogle totaled three hits and two RBIs.

Jarrett Gordon,
Nick Moyer, and
David Martinez each tallied two hits.
Sawyer Shepherd earned the win on the mound for the Falcons throwing five scoreless innings, allowing two hits, three walks, and six strikeouts.

After
Sawyer Shepherd got out of a bases loaded jam in the top of the first, the Falcons looked to strike in the bottom of the first.
Isaiah Parido led off the inning with a single and then
Drew Hurst walked to put runners on first and second with no outs. After a pop out,
Dylan Beard reached on a bunt single to load the bases for the Falcons.
Jarrett Gordon then ripped an RBI singled to left to give the Falcons the 1-0 lead. After a strikeout,
Nick Moyer hit a clutch two-out RBI single to push the Falcons lead to 2-0 after the first inning.
After a scoreless second inning and top of the third, the Falcons bats looked to increase their lead in the bottom of the third.
Dylan Beard led off the inning for the Falcons with a double to right center.
Jarrett Gordon then single and advanced to second to put runners on second and third with no outs.
Nick Moyer then hit his second RBI single of the game to increase the Falcons lead to three.
David Martinez followed up Moyer's hit with an RBI single of his own to push the Falcons lead to 4-0. After a pop out and a

Isaiah Parido hit a sacrifice fly to center to give the Falcons a 5-0 lead through three innings.
After a pair of scoreless frames from
Sawyer Shepherd, the Falcons looked to continue to add to their 5-0 lead.
Nick Moyer led off the bottom of the fifth with a walk. After a pair of outs,
Dustin Isanogle popped a ball up to center field. With the strong wind, the ball went all the way from shallow center to landing behind the second baseman for an RBI double.
Isaiah Parido then hit an RBI single down the right field line to increase the Falcons lead to 7-0.
The Royals looked to battle back in the top of the sixth and scored three runs to reduce the Falcons lead to 7-3. The Falcons though looked to answer the three-run inning from the Royals.
Drew Hurst led off the bottom of the sixth with a walk. After two quick outs,
Jarrett Gordon walked and then
Nick Moyer ripped a two-out two-RBI double to take a 9-3 lead. After a pair of walks from
David Martinez and
Carter Reid,
Dustin Isanogle was hit by a pitch, scoring a run and giving the Falcons a 10-3 lead.
The Falcons added five runs in the bottom of the eighth on a three-run no doubt home run from
Isaiah Parido and a two-run home run from
Evan Wagaman to increase the Falcons lead to 15-3.
The Royals scored a run in the top of the ninth, but the Falcons lead was too strong, and they earned the 15-4 win.
