GRANTHAM, Pa. – On Wednesday evening, the Messiah University men's lacrosse team used a complete performance to defeat the Flying Dutchmen of Lebanon Valley College, 12-6. The Falcons started the game strong with a 5-2 lead at the end of the first quarter. Both teams' defenses lockdown the field in the second with each team only scoring one goal each to put the score at 6-3 at the half. The Falcons outscored the Flying Dutchmen by two to take a 9-4 lead headed into the final quarter. The Falcons put the finishes touches on the win in the fourth, outscoring LVC by one, to earn the 12-6 win.
Owen Hammel led the Falcons with five goals.

Jesse Lynch each totaled three points.
Grant Peffall led the Falcons defense with four cause turnovers and six ground balls.
Jourdain Algarin earned the win in the cage for the Falcons and made 16 saves.

First Quarter
The Falcons opened the scoring with a goal from
Owen Hammel with 12:10 remaining in the first. The Flying Dutchmen then scored two-straight goals to take a 2-1 lead with just under 10 minutes remaining in the first. The Falcons finished the first with a 4-0 run to take a 5-2 lead at the end of the first.

Second Quarter
LVC opened the second with a goal in the first two minutes to reduce the Falcons lead to two. Both defenses then locked down each other until
Trey Bui scored just under five minutes to go in the second to take a 6-3 lead at the half.
Jourdain Algarin led the Falcons in the first half with 12 saves to hold the Flying Dutchmen to three goals.
Third Quarter
The Falcons started the third with a goal from
Owen Hammel by
Jesse Lynch to give the Falcons a 7-3 lead. After nine minutes of scoreless play,
Quentin Davis scored to push the Falcons lead to 8-3 with five minutes remaining in the third. After LVC scored a goal,
Quentin Davis scored from
Bobby Berg to give the Falcons a 9-4 lead headed into the final quarter.
Fourth Quarter
After almost 10 minutes of scoreless play to open the fourth,
Owen Hammel scored a goal from
Trey Bui to give the Falcons a six-goal lead. Both teams scored two goals the rest of the way with Bui and Hammel both scoring to give the Falcons the 12-6 win.
