ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - On Saturday afternoon, the Messiah University men's lacrosse team cruised to a 16-8 win over the Eagles of Eastern University, 16-8. Both teams scored four goals in the first quarter to remain tied. The Falcons then outscored the Eagles by two in the second to take a 7-5 lead into the break. The Falcons continued the momentum, outscoring the Eagles, 4-1 to take an 11-6 lead headed into the final quarter. The Falcons outscored the Eagles by three in the third to earn the 16-8 win. Bobby Berg led the Falcons with eight points on five goals and three assists. Michael Cook totaled five points on four goals and an assist. Owen Hammel scored a hat-trick and dished out an assist. Jourdain Algarin earned the win in the cage with 15 saves.

First Quarter
The Falcons opened the game strong with a pair of goals in the first five minutes to take an early 2-0 lead. Bobby Berg and Owen Hammel each scored a goal for the Falcons during the stretch. After an Eastern goal, the Falcons answered with two-straight goals to take a 4-1 lead with four minutes to go in the first. Berg scored his second of the game, and Michael Cook added a goal for the Falcons during the two-goal run. The Eagles ended the first with a 3-0 run to tie the game at four headed into the second quarter.
Second Quarter
The Falcons opened the second quarter strong with a goal from Michael Cook and Owen Hammel to give the Falcons a 6-4 lead with 12 minutes remaining in the half. After five minutes of scoreless play, the Eagles scored a goal to cut the Falcons lead to one. The Falcons scored a man-up from Hammel by Cook goal to close the first half with a 7-5 lead.
Third Quarter
After the Eagles opened the third with a goal, the Falcons answered back with a goal from Bobby Berg by Jesse Lynch to give the Falcons an 8-6 lead with 12 minutes remaining in the third. After five minutes of scoreless play, the Falcons closed the third with a goal from Michael Cook, Quentin Davis, and Brayden Kuhar to give the Falcons an 11-6 lead headed into the final quarter.
Fourth Quarter
The Falcons opened the fourth with two-straight goals to extend their lead to 13-6 with just under 13 minutes remaining in the game. Bobby Berg and Trey Bui each scored for the Falcons during the stretch. After an Eagles' goal, Berg added another goal to give the Falcons a seven-goal lead with nine minutes to go in the fourth. After an Eastern goal, the Falcons ended the game with a goal from Michael Cook and Quentin Davis to giv the Falcons the 16-8 win.
