Men’s Lacrosse Falls at Stevenson, Clinch Conference Tournament Apperance

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – On Tuesday evening, the Messiah University men's lacrosse team fell to the Mustangs of Stevenson University, 18-4, but clinched a spot in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament. The Mustangs opened the game with a five-goal first to take a 5-0 lead at the end of the first. The Mustangs outscored the Falcons by five in the second to take an 11-1 lead at the half. The Falcons outscored the Mustangs by one in the third to cut Mustangs lead to 13-4 headed into the final quarter. The Mustangs scored all five goals in the fourth to earn the 18-4 win. Bobby Berg led the Falcons with two goals. Rowan Foster and Owen Hammel each scored a goal. Jourdain Algarin made 18 saves in the cage for the Falcons.
 
Up next, the Falcons host the Pride of Widener University on Saturday, April 25 at 1:00 p.m. to close out the 2026 regular season.
 
First Quarter
The Mustangs outscored the Falcons 5-0 in the first to take the early lead. The Falcons totaled three shots on goal but could not find the back of the net.
 
Second Quarter
The Falcons opened the second with a goal from Bobby Berg to cut the Mustangs lead to 5-1 with 12:30 remaining in the second. The Mustangs then scored six unanswered goals through the final 12 minutes to take an 11-1 lead at the half.
 
Third Quarter
The Falcons started the third with a goal from Rowan Foster to cut the Mustang lead to nine with 12:15 remaining in the third. After a Mustang goal a minute later, Owen Hammel scored a goal for the Falcons to cut the Mustangs lead back to nine with 10 minutes remaining in the third. Each team added a goal through the final 10 minutes of the third, with Bobby Berg scoring his second of the game to put the score at 13-4 headed into the fourth.
 
Fourth Quarter
The Mustangs scored all five goals in the fourth to earn the 18-4 win.
 
Stats
Bobby Berg led the Falcons with two goals. Rowan Foster and Owen Hammel each scored a goal. Noah Hauf and Grant Peffall led the Falcons defense with a caused turnover and five ground balls each. Zach Sebra won six faceoffs and scooped up one ground ball.  Jourdain Algarin made 18 saves in the cage for the Falcons.
