READING, Pa. – On Wednesday evening, the Messiah University men's lacrosse team used a dominant overall effort to defeat the Lions of Albright College, 26-4. The Falcons opened the game strong with a 9-1 lead after the first quarter. The Falcons outscored the Lions by five in the second to take a commanding 15-2 lead at the half. The Falcons continued to roll in the second half, outscoring the Lions, 11-2 to earn the 26-4 win.
Owen Hammel led the Falcons with six points on three goals and three assists.
Michael Cook tallied a hat-trick and two assists.

Dustin Penchansky each tallied four points.

First Quarter
The Falcons opened the first with a goal from
Michael Cook and
Jesse Lynch to give the Falcons an early 2-0 lead. After an Albright goal, the Falcons responded with four -straight goals in the next five minutes to take a 6-1 lead.
Bobby Berg scored two goals, and
Quentin Davis and Cook each added a goal for the Falcons during the stretch. The Falcons continued to roll with three more goals to close out the first with a 9-1 lead.
Trey Bui capped off the scoring in the first with a goal with 10 seconds remaining in the quarter.
Second Quarter
The Falcons continued the momentum in the second with two-straight goals from
Owen Hammel in the first five minutes to extend the Falcons lead to 11-1. Over the next five minutes, the Falcons added three more goals, with
Brayden Kuhar,
Walker Penchansky, and Hammel each scoring a goal for the Falcons to give them a 13-1 lead. After the Lions scored a goal, the Falcons closed the second with a goal from
Trey Bui to give Messiah a 15-2 lead at the break.
Third Quarter
The Falcons continued to cruise with five unanswered goals to open the first 10 minutes of the third to push their lead to 20-2.
Dustin Penchansky started the run with a goal from
Trey Bui and
Ryan Kane finished off the run with a goal from
Michael Cook. After an Albright goal,
Dustin Penchansky scored a goal with 22 seconds remaining in the third to give the Falcons a 21-3 lead headed into the final quarter.
Fourth Quarter
The Falcons outscored the Lions 5-1 in the fourth to earn the 26-4 win.

Dustin Penchansky each scored a goal for the Falcons in the fourth.

Jourdain Algarin earned the win in the cage for the Falcons and made seven saves.
Brayden Quinn also earned time in the cage for the Falcons.
